The Lonhro colt has a tidy four-from-six record to date and could add to that on Epsom Handicap Day in this yearâs $300,000 Group 2 Premiere Stakes (1200m) that has attracted 13 early entries.
Premiere Stakes nominations for the weight-for-age showdown are extended until 11am (AEST) on Tuesday, Exosphere one of just two last start winners among the original nominees.
Along with the flying Exosphere who also won the Group 2 Run To The Rose (1200m) at Rosehill Gardens this time in against his own age, OâShea has also nominated for Generalife.
The Godolphin-raced six-year-old son of Lonhro was on fire during his autumn â winter campaign that included a Group 3 Rosehill win as well as back-to-back Group 1 thirds in Brisbane in the Doomben 10,000 and Stradbroke Handicap both over 1350m.
He won a trial over 1045m at Randwick on September 17 and has won two of his seven previous first-up assignments ahead of his possible clash with star young stablemate Exopshere on the weekend.
The race was won last Sydney Spring Racing Carnival by Famous Seamus (2014) who came off a third in the Group 2 The Shorts (1100m) and later went to Melbourne for a Manikato Stakes third and Darley Classic sixth.
This yearâs The Shorts winner from September 19 at Randwick was the Gary Portelli-trained Rebel Dane who is also nominated for a Premiere Stakes rematch this weekend along with third placegetter Shiraz.
Before his close third when under a length off Rebel Dane in The Shorts, the Tony McEvoy-trained Zariz six-year-old Shiraz won four on the trot including the Group 3 Aurieâs Star Handicap (1200m) at Flemington and the Group 3 Concorde Stakes (1000m) at Randwick.
Lightly-raced for his age, the Hawkesbury-based galloper now boasts 10 wins from 16 starts and is undefeated at two previous runs over Saturdayâs distance of 1200m.
Also coming off a nice lead-up run is the Peter & Paul Snowden-trained Group 1 winning Snitzel seven-year-old Hot Snitzel who ran a first-up fourth in The Shorts only a length away from the winner.
Team Snowden also have Flying Spur six-year-old Thatâs A Good Idea entered for the feature, the gelding last seen running second to the always honest Ball Of Muscle in the Group 2 QTC Cup (1200m) in
Many of the other star Premiere Stakes entries this year are first-up for the season including the Joe Pride-trained duo of Terravista and Tiger Tees.
Both Group 1 winners are also nominated for Friday nightâs Group 1 Moir Stakes (1000m) at Moonee Valley with a decision pending on what race the stablemates will run in.
